Mission Statement

Our Mission is to advance a strong business climate and vibrant economy by being an advocate for business and a catalyst for community and economic development in East Los Angeles, California.

The East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce is:

  • A community problem solver, that promotes East L.A. and its local economy. The Chamber knows that a great climate for businesses is not automatic and that their interests must be encouraged and promoted.
  • Advocating for business for over 25 years, incorporating as an official Chamber of Commerce in 1988.
  • An independent, non-profit organization financed by its members to promote business & advocate on their behalf (not a government agency).

"Business, Prosperity and Community" is our motto. We collaborate with other business associations collaborate with other business associations throughout our community to promote prosperity and quality of life for the businesses and residents of the East Los Angeles community we represent. Founded in March 1988, the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to strengthening and promoting the East L.A. business community, and helping maintain the quality of life throughout the East L.A.community. It is also the umbrella organization for the East Los Angeles Business Coalition, a business collaborative with the Whittier Boulevard Merchants Association and the Maravilla Businesspersons Association representing all of Unincorporated East L.A.
