Parking Enforcement in East Los Angeles Resumes on November 15, 2020

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Parking Enforcement Detail (LASD/PED) will resume issuing citations and towing on November 15, 2020.

All streets with posted signs will be enforced.

For expired registration:
A vehicle with expired registration 60 days or more will be cited.
A vehicle with expired registration in excess 6 months will be cited and Red Tagged, giving the vehicle 72-houror 3daysnotice.

Red Tag* will be issued to the vehicle that fits the following criteria
Unmoved vehicles parked in excess of 72 hours or 3 days.
Unmoved vehicle showing excessive dirt, debris underneath and around tires, spider webs, etc.
Unmoved vehicle with flat tires, missing parts, vandalized, etc.

*If vehicle has not been moved after 72 hours or 3 days, a citation for 22523(a)(b)CVC, “Abandonment Prohibited” will be issued; an additional 48 hours or 2 days will be given. If vehicle still has not been moved, vehicle will be impounded.

All other issues regarding the issuance of parking citation have been ongoing and will continue for all the following categories:
Any vehicle parked illegally, as it applies to the Los Angeles County Vehicle Codes and/or California Vehicle Codes (whether signs posted or no signs posted).
Blocking public or emergency access (alleyways, fire hydrants, driveways, sidewalks, blocking or interfering public right-of-way or blocking other vehicles,etc.).
